What is Failsafe University? |
|
In 2004, Failsafe
recognized the need to provide a wide variety of training options to
organizations pursuing Root Cause
Analysis.
After a list of needs were developed, classes were outlined to fulfill
these needs. Some of the classes needed to be LIVE, with
face-to-face interaction between the teacher and students. Other
classes needed to be LIVE, but performed over the web. Finally,
many classes did not need to be live, but rather pre-recorded. As
the list of classes were being prepared, it started to look like a
University curriculum -- leading to the name Failsafe University. |

What is The Latent Cause
Experience? |
|
Through many years of trial and
error approaches to training people in Root Cause Analysis, Failsafe
Network has discovered a recipe for either helping organizations to
JUMP-START a new RCA effort or
PUTTING LIFE into an old one. |
|
Failsafe has discovered the need
to train a
CROSS-SECTION of the organization in one setting --
managers, technical resources, operations and maintenance -- even
accounting and purchasing. This is vital, since
EVERYONE contributes to things that
go wrong, and therefore EVERYONE
needs to be involved in learning. |
|
The
GOAL of the
LATENT CAUSE EXPERIENCE
is to embed essential concepts within the psyches of each attendee.
To this end, Failsafe has discovered the value of using personal
(home examples) to grab the attendees interest in an
UNFORGETTABLE manner.

Who does the training? |
|
Failsafe does not offer train-the-trainer
packages, nor does it license hoards of people to train others in
Failsafe' methods. While many of Failsafe's competitors have
diluted their principal's passion when conducting root cause analysis
training, Failsafe insists on an undiluted, strong, and consistent
message from its hand-picked trainers. Therefore, at
present only two people are providing Failsafe training:
C. Robert (Bob) Nelms
has been either leading or performing root cause analysis training since
1974. A former member of Allied Chemical's Reliability Center, Bob
founded Failsafe Network in 1985 when
the
Reliability Center was disbanded. He developed many of the popular root
cause methods being taught by others today, and continues to develop
unique and decisive ways to help people learn from things that go
wrong. Bob displays a passion when conducting root cause analysis
training that, according to others, is catching.
Bob is
available to deliver all of Failsafe's training materials.
Rob Statham is
Failsafe's 1st Licensed Affiliate, and is rapidly becoming Failsafe's
primary deliverer of Failsafe's
Mini-LCA
training. Rob is a passionate and dynamic speaker and is a
believer in the power of the Mini-LCA. He has been helping a number of
organizations indoctrinate "the masses" with the Mini-LCA training.
Rob is available to deliver "Latent Cause Analysis for Everyone --
the Mini-LCA."

How can you get started? |
|
FIRST:
Attend a sponsored session of
The Latent Cause
Experience, as a guest. Failsafe will give you a
10 year head-start over any other Root Cause Analysis training, but
you have to take the
first
step and "taste" Failsafe's approaches. Most organizations get
initially involved with Failsafe's training by reserving a
GUEST SEAT at an On-Site Latent
Cause Experience Training session sponsored by another client. |
|
SECOND:
Bring The
Latent Cause Experience to your own site. Once you have attended one of the above
root cause analysis training sessions, you will probably want
to
bring it to your own site.
Typically, a site exposes a
cross-section
of its organization to this training -- up to 30
people at a time to jump start the root cause analysis effort.
Managers, technical, and hands-on personnel typically attend this
session. It's the interaction between the levels that makes the
training effective. At the end of the 4-days, you'll have a core of
people that are
on-fire,
ready and willing to make the root causes of your site's problems
visible so they can be acted-on. |
|
FINALLY: Train
the remainder of your work-force. Once you have exposed a cross-section of your organization, you
will want to
quickly train the
remainder of the workforce
so that they know what's going on AND so that they can participate.
You see,
Root Cause
Analysis is for EVERYONE
because
it's the things that cause big things. Everyone needs to be
involved, to varying degrees, in addressing the causes
of small things. In
support of this need, Failsafe is providing a growing list of
short,
cost-effective, web-based
root cause analysis training so that you can tailor the training to
your needs. |
